Donnie was an absolutely wonderful agent for us! My parents had moved into assisted living, and I, as an only child, was tasked with deciding what to do with the house. Selling it as-is would have hurt the comps in the neighborhood, so we embarked on a major renovation to try and maximize my parents' biggest asset and find a new owner who would love it as my parents had loved it. By the time Donnie found me, I had talked to several agents and was exhausted by the process. I felt that the values assigned by other agents were not right, and their high-pressure tactics to get me to sign when the house wasn't done only made things more stressful.

Donnie called me out of the blue and—I hate to admit—I accidentally picked up the phone. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to let him come out. The evening he visited, there was the most amazing sunset; the sunsets at this house are spectacular, and he could see the value and the potential immediately. He was completely excited about the listing.

Donnie was gentle in his guidance, his kindness was exactly what I needed. He knew that there were challenges in the pricing of the property because of a lack of comps and the rare hillside view of the Guadalupe valley, but he let me dream big. I know we overpriced it a little in the beginning, but Donnie knew where it would eventually end up. He also told me that someone would buy our property as a high-end vacation home, and you know, he NAILED IT. He brought in a fabulous photographer and we worked together to make a great video. His communication skills are second to none, and we talked on the phone or texted throughout.

In the end, we sold the house for almost double what we had originally planned before we embarked on the renovation. Yes, DOUBLE. Even in negotiations, when I was ready to throw in the towel, Donnie knew he could push a little more, netting us a little extra money. Because of Donnie's hard work, the home my parents loved so much brought stability to their retirement and a peaceful closure to that chapter in their lives.
